Neutrals Decor Design’s Brenda Umdenstock has had design on her mind for over 20 years. She started her career as a flight attendant in 1983, and although she loved flying, she always dreamed of hanging up her wings and focusing on design full time. After a few years, Brenda couldn’t shake the design bug, so she enrolled at the American Institute of Interior Design (ASID) and opened a side business to flex her creative muscles when she wasn’t flying. A few years ago, Brenda decided to retire from the airline industry and finally pursue her dream. She began working for a prominent interior design company in Cave Creek, Arizona, helping with everything from purchasing to merchandising to stocking. After brushing up on the business side of design, she set off to grow her own business, Neutrals Decor Design. Although Neutrals Decor Design is a fairly new business, Brenda brings over 20+ years of experience in interior design. She also has received numerous awards, including the ASID award for Design Excellence for Singular Residential Space and a spot in ASID’s acclaimed Show House. Over the years, Brenda has become known for her neutrals-driven style and fun personality. She believes interior design is like getting dressed in the morning: start with a neutral foundation, and add layers from there. Brenda also follows the philosophy that design should be beautiful and functional. Her work reflects the personality and preferences of each client to make sure the decor looks good and fits with their lifestyle.
